Welcome
As the Principal of Phoenix Christian School K-8, I welcome your visit. We are celebrating our 50th anniversary this school year, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to impact three generations of students, an impact that lasts a lifetime!
Those beginning days in our history started with a small group of families from the Phoenix Christian Reformed Church. Their predominant purpose for wanting a Christian school was to provide Christian parents with a Christ-centered educational environment, where the home, church and school worked together, each mutually supporting the other. They began with little money, much prayer and a lot of determination. Land was purchased, and with the help of many hands, the first classrooms of Phoenix Christian Grade School opened in September of 1959.
We still believe as our founding families did. Children must be able to gain an understanding of God’s great love for them and to rely on His Word as the foundation for all wisdom and learning. It is not enough to educate children in a classroom devoid of a Christian worldview. We strive to incorporate the relevancy of God’s truth into the life and education of each student.
Education is our business, but teaching is our love. Phoenix Christian School K-8 teachers make a difference in the life of each child. We work hard to provide a schoolwide environment which is fertile for learning and growing.
We begin each school year focusing on a new theme. As we incorporate “Be an Example” this year, our students are being encouraged to do what is right in God’s sight, no matter how young they are. As we turn the pages of the calendar August through May, our prayer is that God will continue to bless all we do and those for whom we do it.
“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.”
1 Timothy 4:12
